Best of Boston Review

(Wellesley, MA) According to Boston Magazine's 2001 Best of Boston survey, it's "a style that's at once soothing and energizing" that captured the annual award for Jennifer Harvey as Boston's Best Exercise Instructor (West). Now Ms. Harvey, along with a group of very talented teachers, is bringing the best to her new Laughing Dog Yoga Studio opening this month in Wellesley.

The new studio will offer a convenient daily schedule of yoga for all levels including beginning and continuing students whether they seek gentle, flowing or power yoga classes. In addition, both private and semi-private instruction is available in yoga and Pilates as is Yoga Therapy for those who have either an injury or specific concerns.

A double-decade veteran of the American fitness scene, Ms. Harvey has been on the cutting edge of mind/body exercise and is an accomplished teacher of yoga, Pilates and NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) as well as a Licensed Psychotherapist having been in practice for the past seventeen years. Certified in both the Kripalu and Svaroopa yoga traditions, she holds a Blue Belt in NIA and has completed extensive training in Pilates with the Physical/Mind Institute.

In addition to her teaching, she has integrated an extensive study of human anatomy and the body's energy systems with her training in fitness, psychology and meditation into a highly-refined Yoga Therapy practice addressing physical injuries, postural misalignments, trauma and stress.

For several weeks each of the past five years, Ms. Harvey has co-led Washington, DC based INWARD BOUND travel adventures in yoga and mind/body fitness to exotic locations around the globe including Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica; Isla De la Mujeres, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Umbria, Italy; Tourettes sur Loop, France . INWARD BOUND has been featured in national media including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Mademoiselle, Self and Yoga Journal.
